### Flood.

Rainy season has started. The shadow of the clouds in the sky, everything seems to be different. Black clouds rumbled in the blue sky, with rain pouring down in torrents. Village people are not happy to see rain like before. An unknown fear is also hidden in their minds - the fear of flooding.

Night has come. Electricity has not yet reached the village, so darkness is approaching. The village by the river is deserted. Due to the rain, water has accumulated around, small canals and ponds have filled up. The houses in the village are made of mud, so the fear of the collapse of the houses of the villagers has increased.

Suddenly one day, the water in the river started rising. "The water will rise. We are going to be in danger," Mukul Bhai, the village's boatman, had said some time ago. But the village people did not pay much attention. Now they understand how big danger is waiting.

Afternoon and evening. The people of the village are worried. Ponds, ponds, canals and banks have all become one in the water. The water is increasing and has reached the doorstep of people's houses. Animals are paralyzed with fear. Cows and goats roam restlessly. No one can stand still. The bodies of fish, reptiles and even dead animals are floating in the flood water.

Mukul Bhai is sitting on the bamboo ladder and looking at it, it seems that the house will be washed away by the rain. This terrible flood is not new for the village, but this time it is more terrible.

Shirin Begum is sitting with her little sons and daughters, fear in her eyes. "Dad, are we going to drown?" asked younger daughter Tanya. Shirin Begum does not know what to answer. He just hugged the children and started crying.

Azan is being heard from the village mosque. There is only one prayer in the minds of the people of the village - the prayer of survival. "Everyone should stay away from the water, especially children," the mosque's imam announces on the mic.

The flow of water does not want to stop. Some are trying to get to higher ground with their belongings as a last resort. Meanwhile, Mukul Bhai is moving around the village with his boat, if anyone needs it, they can go to a safe place by boat.

Almost all unpaved roads in the village have been submerged due to floods. Only the head is visible on the rice of someone's house. Even if some sit on the house ladder, it is not safe enough. The loft can collapse at any time.

The people of the neighboring village do not know how the people of their village are. Roads are closed, phone lines are cut. All around is water and water. In this silent darkness fear and despair is increasing in the minds of the people of the village.

But there are still some people in the village who have not lost their courage. Those like Mukul Bhai who come to help others in this time of danger, have no fatigue on their faces. They are trying to take the people of the village to a safe place with ropes, bamboos and boats.

In the midst of this calamity, news suddenly arrived—the flood waters were rising, and the nearby dam was likely to break. Hearing this news, the people of the village became more afraid. Everyone came together to the mosque and started gathering. The imam of the mosque said again into the mike, "God will protect us. We must have courage."

Muktar Ali, the oldest resident of the village, spent so many years of his life in this village. Never seen such a flood. He has no words. Only tears in the corners of the eyes.

The night is getting deeper, and the fear of the villagers is increasing with it. Everything seems to have a strange slow atmosphere now. Suddenly, a pitiful cry came from nowhere. Someone may have lost a loved one in this disaster.

As the night drew to a close, the rain stopped a little. But there is no sign of the flood waters receding. Some brave young men are trying to get out of the village with boats, maybe they can bring some help.

The sun rose in the morning. The people of the village realized that they were still alive at the end of this terrible night. But the flood water is still around. The roads are all submerged, there is no drinking water in the village. People are looking for food, relief. But no relief has been provided yet.

Some people from neighboring villages are trying to help, but relief is lacking. Everyone is suffering from the same problem. Mukul Bhai has taken some people to safety by boat, but many are still trapped in the village.

The flood water has not receded yet, but people's morale is slowly returning. The men and women of the village are trying to repair their houses together. The children are playing in the mud, though the panic on their faces is evident.

Despite such a big disaster, the people of the village are helping each other. Their only hope in this difficult time is their own courage and love for each other.

The flood will end, the water will recede, but the memory of this flood will remain forever in the minds of the people of the village. No matter how dire the calamity, people can overcome anything by putting their minds to it—this is the lesson they learned today.
