Mithu was a playful little girl. He's only in class three, but his curiosity just doesn't want to stop. Mithu lived with his parents in a small village. The village is full of greenery, surrounded by paddy fields, coconut trees, and calm rivers. Every afternoon Mithu used to go to the river bank with his friends. Their favorite pastime was to stand on the banks of the river and throw stones and float in the river.
Mithu's father was a school teacher. He was very serious about his studies, but Mithu's mother always wanted Mithu to be happy. So Mithu was given opportunities for sports as well as studies. Mithu's mind was always on the riverside games and small birds. His favorite bird was the Myna, which he affectionately called "Mithu Mithu". Myna was very intelligent and sweet.
One afternoon Mithu was sitting in the backyard with his mother. Then suddenly a small myna bird flew and landed in their backyard. The bird's leg was slightly injured, and it was unable to fly. Mithu ran and picked up the bird. Mithu's mother said, “Oh! Sweet, the bird must have been hurt. Take care of him."
Mithu took the bird and went inside the room. With her mother's help, she applied a little ointment to the bird's feet. Then he placed the bird in a small box with a soft cloth. Mithu called the corpse "Mithu Mithu".
This is how Mithu and Mithu Mithu's friendship began. Every morning Mithu Mithu used to feed Moina, talk to her. Mithu Mithu seemed to answer his words in small words. With time Mithu Mithu began to recover. He learned to fly again, but never left Mithu. When Mithu would come back from school, Mithu would sit on his shoulder.
As the days went by, Mithu and Mithu Mithu's friendship deepened. But one day suddenly Mithu was not coming to play with Mithu. He flew around the house, but never came near Mithu. Mithu was a little worried. Why is the bird doing this? He went to his mother and asked, "Mother, why is Mithu Mithu not coming to me?"
Mother smiled and said, “You know sweetie, birds like to be free. Maybe Mithu Mithu now wants to fly independently on his own. Leave him.”
Mithu became a little depressed. He thought, "So Mithu Mithu will no longer be with me?" But he remembered his mother. He knew that everyone in nature has the right to live freely. He decided, he will not tie Mithu Mithu anymore.
The next morning Mithu went to the river bank, where he and his friends used to play. Mithu Mithu also flew with him. Mithu stood there and said, “Mithu Mithu, if you want to go, you can go. I love you so much, but I don't want to take away your freedom.”
Mithu looked at Mithu for a while. Then one time Mithu Mithu spread his wings. Mithu thought, the bird will probably leave. But surprisingly, Mithu did not go far and sat on Mithu's shoulder. Mithu blinked happily. He realized that Mithu Mithu would never go away from him. Even if the bird is free, their friendship will remain the same.
From that day Mithu and Mithu Mithu became closer. Mithu Mithu sometimes flew to other trees in the village, but whenever Mithu called him, he came back. Mithu understood that love does not mean holding someone back, but rather liberating them.
This is how Mithu and Mithu Mithu's days passed. One day suddenly Mithu's father came home and said, “Mithu, next week we are going to the city. I will enroll you in your new school.”
Mithu was a bit worried. If you go to the city, will you meet again with Mithu Mithu? His mind became heavy. But he thought to himself, "What will happen will happen. Even if I don't get Mithu Mithu, I know he will be fine."
Finally the day came to go to town. Mithu was packing his toy box when Mithu flew to his window and sat down. Mithu was very happy to see him. He looked at Mithu Mithu and said, “Be good, Mithu Mithu. I will miss you so much.”
As if Mithu understood Mithu, he came and sat on Mithu's head, and stayed like that for a while. Then slowly flew away. Tears welled up in Mithu's eyes, but he felt that Mithu Mithu would come right back, someday.
Mithu knew that true love never ends.
